Ways to Give
Your Support Matters!
The Leukemia Research Foundation exists because of you, our supporters. Since 1946, we have been leading the fight to find a cure to all blood cancers by funding new and innovative research. Last year, the LRF awarded more than $1.4 million in research grants around the world. These grants were funded by donors like you who realize that new and inventive approaches to blood cancer treatments will only come from welcoming new perspectives and insights into the blood cancer research arena.
“Major accomplishments come not so much from dramatic, blinding revelations or breakthroughs but more through sustained effort and perseverance – showing up and taking a step every day. Giving is a small way I can be part of the journey on which the LRF has invited me to participate.”
– Steve M., Donor

A tribute or memorial gift is a meaningful way to remember a loved one’s legacy or express your appreciation for someone special. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of others on behalf of a loved one today, tomorrow and far into the future all by helping us to conquer all blood cancers by funding research into their causes and cures, and enriching the quality of life of those touched by these diseases.
When a gift is made in memory, in honor or in celebration of someone, a special card is sent to the individual being honored or to whom you indicate should be notified of the gift.
To make a gift in someone’s name, please be sure to complete all necessary information in the tribute section of the online giving form, or mail your gift directly to:
Leukemia Research Foundation

Northfield, IL 60093
Requesting Memorial Gifts
Losing a loved one is difficult, but many families find comfort in honoring those they have lost by requesting memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation. You can invite others to give by asking the person arranging the funeral or memorial service to insert the following phrase in the obituary notice:
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road, Ste 105, Northfield, IL 60093, or online at allbloodcancers.org.
Please contact Duncan Mitchell, Director of the Annual Fund/Database Administrator, at 847-424-0600, with questions or for assistance with tribute or memorial giving.
A recurring gift is an ongoing, specific gift amount determined by you that is charged monthly to your credit card. Your recurring gifts will be a dependable source of support that the Leukemia Research Foundation can count on throughout the year.
Spreading your support throughout the year is a convenient way to include your donations into your personal budget. Monthly giving is the most cost efficient way to deliver your support.
You will know you're helping the Leukemia Research Foundation continue to fund innovative research and provide patient support and education with your monthly gift.
When you participate in the Leukemia Research Foundation’s Recurring Gift Program, your gift will appear each month on your credit card. We will send you a calendar year-end tax receipt each January to help in your tax preparations, and you will receive our informative monthly Microscope email newsletter, to keep you up to date on our important work.
Reduced paperwork and administrative expenses
Automatic monthly payments mean more of your donation goes to where it is needed most.
If for any reason you wish to increase, decrease, discontinue your gifts, or change the credit card being charged, just email us or call 847-424-0600 and we will gladly accommodate you.
To begin your monthly giving, please visit the recurring gift page. The first charge to your card will be on the 15th day of the following month.
The LRF is profoundly grateful for the support provided by donors who have committed to planned gifts sustaining the LRF into the future. Through their generosity, they have created meaningful legacies for future generations.
to Leave a Legacy
Please consider including a gift to the Leukemia Research Foundation in your will or living trust. Your gift offers these main benefits:
Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed. The suggested bequest language for the Leukemia Research Foundation is "I, [name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise and bequeath to Leukemia Research Foundation [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its general purposes."
Because you are not actually making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.
You can structure the bequest to leave a specific item or amount of money, make the gift contingent on certain events, or leave a percentage of your estate to the Leukemia Research Foundation.
If your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift may be entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift's full value.
Is the LRF already in your will, trust or other estate plans? Thank you! Please let us know about your plans because it helps the LRF plan for the future. Call 847.424.0600 or email Cindy Kane and she will add your name to the Legacy Of Hope. Your gift may remain anonymous if you like.
If you don't have a will, you’re not alone. Now is a great time to start planning and please consider including a bequest to the LRF in your estate plans.
An increasing number of people choose to make gifts of appreciated stock to qualified nonprofit organizations like the Leukemia Research Foundation. Such gifts may result in substantial tax benefits in the form of charitable deductions and avoidance of capital gains taxes. Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock via a direct transfer to the LRF's account. Stock certificates can also be donated.
Please contact Arleen Boudart, Finance Manager/Director of Special Events, at 847-424-0600, with questions or for assistance with making cash wire transfers or a gift of stock.
There are many ways to contribute to the Leukemia Research Foundation through the workplace!
A Matching Gift is an easy way for you to double or even triple the value of your contribution to the LRF!, If your company has a matching gifts program, they will not only “match” your contribution but in many cases double or triple it! Please inquire with your Human Resources about the options.
Federal employees can support the LRF through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Designate the Leukemia Research Foundation (#11725) on your payroll deduction form!
