Acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients who do not respond to standard care have a new treatment regimen now, thanks to the work of Reshmi Parameswaran, Ph.D. and colleagues at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland. The new treatment option involves enhancement of the patient’s immune system to identify and kill leukemia cells. Read more about the new therapy here.

Doctor Parameswaran is an assistant professor in the departments of Pathology, Pediatrics and Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, as well as a member of the Hematopoietic and Immune Cancer Biology Program, Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her research was funded by the Leukemia Research Foundation in 2015.
