Based on metrics focused on accountability, transparency, governance and ethical practice, the 4-Star rating is only awarded to the most fiscally-responsible organizations. The Leukemia Research Foundation has achieved a 4-Star rating for 11 consecutive years in the accountability and transparency portion of the evaluation process. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that the Leukemia Research Foundation exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in the blood cancer space.
“This exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets the Leukemia Research Foundation apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness,” according to Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “Only a quarter of rated charities have achieved this distinction! Based on its 4-Star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially-responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support the Leukemia Research Foundation.”
“It’s important for our donors to trust that the support they provide is being wisely utilized to accomplish our mission of funding worldwide medical research in support of a cure for all blood cancers while providing patient support and need-based financial assistance,” said Leukemia Research Foundation Executive Director Kevin Radelet. “Our 4-Star Charity Navigator rating demonstrates to our supporters that we take our fiduciary and governance responsibilities very seriously.”
